Chocante is a Polish company importing and distributing cocoa from all over the world – founded in Krakow by Tomasz Orzeszko. It specializes in ceremonial cocoa: unskimmed, minimally processed cocoa mass that retains the natural composition of the bean. In addition to cocoa, the offer also includes chocolates produced by the brand, as well as matcha, beans, nibs, and cocoa butter.
History and values of Chocante
The brand was founded out of the fascination its founder acquired after his first encounter with cocoa ceremonies – a tradition originating from pre-Columbian Mesoamerican cultures, where a brew from cocoa beans was an element of spiritual and social life. The name "Chocante" comes from Spanish – during a language lesson in Krakow, the teacher commented on Tomasz's stories precisely with this word. "Chocante" means more or less "astonishing", "extra".
The company operates under the banner of Skeppi with its headquarters in Krakow. Before being put up for sale, cocoa is tasted and selected – only those that meet internal quality criteria for taste and aroma are offered.
What is ceremonial cocoa?
Ceremonial cocoa is cocoa mass (cocoa paste) – a product made from ground cocoa beans without removing natural fat. Unlike popular cocoa powder, which is a defatted byproduct of pressing cocoa butter, cocoa mass contains the full profile of bean components: both fat (cocoa butter) and dry fraction. It is usually sold in the form of lumps or a block, from which the necessary portion is broken off to prepare a hot beverage.
Cocoa is a natural source of magnesium, iron, copper, and manganese, and cocoa beans contain theobromine – a compound with an effect similar to caffeine, though milder and longer-lasting. The taste of ceremonial cocoa varies significantly depending on the cocoa variety and growing region.

Who are Chocante products for?
Chocante's offer is primarily aimed at people who want to consciously reach for cocoa – not as a substitute for milk chocolate, but as a wholesome product with a specific provenance. Ceremonial cocoa will work well both as an everyday alternative beverage to coffee and as an ingredient for cooking or baking.
Mushcao and mushroom blends may interest people who use adaptogens or are looking for functional coffee substitutes. Cocoa butter and nibs, in turn, are popular ingredients in plant-based cuisine and homemade sweets.
