Description

Ceremonial cocoa Nigeria Osun Iwo 100 g - Chocante

Ceremonial cocoa (full-fat cocoa paste, cocoa mass) of the Forastero/Amelonado variety, originating from the Osun region of Nigeria, near the city of Iwo. This unique cocoa delights with an intense, deep chocolate flavor with delicate nutty notes on the finish. It is characterized by low acidity and a pleasant, refined bitterness—ideal for lovers of true cocoa in its purest form.

  • Genre: Amelonado, Forastero
  • Taste: Bitter, intensely chocolatey, medium acidity
  • Origin: Nigeria, Osun Region
  • Packaging: bag with a zipper closure

Iwo cocoa beans mature slowly in natural agroforestry systems—alongside cassava, corn, plantains, and yams. This multi-species cultivation protects the soil, preserves biodiversity, and gives the beans a unique, stable flavor profile.

The cocoa comes from small family farms that have been cultivating it using traditional, handcrafted methods for generations. The beans are carefully fermented for 5–6 days and then sun-dried for 6–8 days, ensuring they retain their full aroma and natural properties.
