- Yerba mate can also be recommended for people with blood pressure problems. A decoction of yerba mate supports circulatory system function and helps lower blood pressure. - A vitamin bomb! Yerba Mate is rich in vitamins B, C, and E. It also contains important minerals such as potassium, magnesium, silicon, zinc, phosphorus, iron, and calcium.
How to brew Yerba Mate?
For this, you need, first of all, dried Yerba Mate, a Yerba Mate container called a matero, and a bombilla, which is a metal tube with a filter.
- Pour the herbs into the container, but no more than ¾ of its volume.
- Cover the container, turn it upside down, and shake it. This will remove any dust. The dried herb should also be present on the upper parts of the container.
- Place the container at an angle and insert the bombilla so that it rests on the surface of the dried herbs.
- Next, pour in water at a temperature of approximately 70-80°C. It's important that it's not boiling water, as this will cause the yerba to lose its properties.
- When brewed for the first time, the leaves absorb most of the water, so you need to add water after a while.
- Yerba is ready to drink in almost no time – the longer you steep it, the stronger it will be. Once prepared, pour the yerba over it several times!
