Breakfast cereals of all kinds—cereals, muesli, and crunchy cereals—are perfect for a quick meal. They'll give you a boost of energy first thing in the morning to start the day strong. Healthy breakfast cereals provide energy primarily from carbohydrates, but they also contain vitamins and minerals.
Types of organic cereals
Organic cereal flakes are made from cereal grains such as oats, rye, corn, buckwheat, and barley. The grains are dehulled and then crushed flat. We distinguish flakes based on the production process:
- Classic flakes – these are the least processed; the hulled grains are merely pressed. However, they require longer cooking;
- Mountain flakes – the grains are additionally crushed before crushing. These fine flakes cook faster than traditional flakes;
- Instant flakes – crushed grains are subjected to hot steam, which pre-softens them. This allows them to absorb water very quickly and be ready in a flash.
