BIO prickly pear seed oil is a rare cold-pressed vegetable oil derived from the seeds of the prickly pear cactus (Opuntia Ficus-Indica), cultivated, among other places, in North Africa. Due to the microscopic size of its seeds and their low oil content, approximately one million seeds harvested from several hundred kilograms of fruit are needed to produce one liter of oil, making it one of the most expensive cosmetic oils in the world.

Natura Receptura's prickly pear seed oil is made from seeds sourced from Tunisia, cold-pressed in Poland, which allows the producer to maintain full control over the production and storage process of the raw material.

Composition and Origin

The oil is unrefined, with a delicate, neutral scent and a slightly yellowish color. It consists of 100% cold-pressed prickly pear seed oil, without the use of chemical solvents.

Skincare Properties

Prickly pear seed oil is distinguished by its rich fatty acid profile, including a high content of linoleic acid (omega-6) and oleic acid (omega-9), which support skin hydration and the restoration of the epidermal hydrolipid barrier. It also contains vitamin E in the form of tocopherols, acting as a natural antioxidant that protects the skin from free radical damage, as well as plant sterols and polyphenols that support skin condition and elasticity.

Thanks to this composition, the oil can be used in anti-aging care – it supports skin firmness and elasticity, smooths its surface, and can reduce the visibility of fine expression lines. Its light, fast-absorbing consistency means the oil leaves no greasy residue and is well-tolerated even by sensitive and blemish-prone skin (non-comedogenic).

Application

Prickly pear seed oil is suitable as a facial serum, under-eye treatment, for hair and nail care, and as an additive to your favorite cosmetics – creams, lotions, or masks. The universal nature of the oil allows it to be used in daily care for the face, body, or hands.

How to use

• As a facial serum: apply 5-7 drops to cleansed and toned skin, massage in circular motions until absorbed.
• Under eyes: 1 drop gently massaged into the skin around the eyes.
• As a skincare additive: a few drops can be added to cream, lotion, a clay mask, or a homemade scrub.
• For hair: apply a few drops to the ends or add to conditioner or a mask.
• For nails and cuticles: rub directly into the nail plate and cuticles.

Recommended storage conditions

Store in a cool, dark, and dry place. Shelf life: 12 months after opening.
