Description
Manuka Honey MGO 514+ 250 g - Vilgain
Vilgain Manuka Honey is a monofloral honey from the nectar of Manuka flowers (Leptospermum scoparium), collected in the pristine nature of New Zealand. It comes from a family apiary in Mount Bruce, covering nearly 950 acres of land amidst native vegetation and protected landscape, which allows for controlling the placement of beehives and locating them in areas with abundant Manuka growth.
The honey is obtained using the RAW method – after harvesting, it is only gently filtered and stored at a temperature of up to 20°C. If necessary, it is heated only to the degree required to achieve the appropriate viscosity, and then subjected to a week-long creaming process, which gives it a smooth, uniform, and velvety consistency.
The methylglyoxal (MGO) content – a natural compound characteristic of Manuka honey, whose concentration changes during maturation and storage – in this product is a minimum of 514 mg/kg. High temperatures can cause a decrease in its content, so it is recommended to avoid unnecessary heating of the honey.
Authenticity confirmed by certificate
Each batch of honey undergoes laboratory testing. A full certificate of analysis is available for download here.
Application
Manuka honey can be consumed on its own by the spoonful, added to yogurt or oatmeal, served with a cheese board, used to sweeten warm drinks (up to 40–60°C), drizzled over fruit, or used as an addition to bread or toast.
The MGO 514+ designation indicates that the honey contains at least 514 mg/kg of methylglyoxal.
