BICAPS BOSWELLIA is a dietary supplement from ForMeds containing a standardized extract of Boswellia serrata resin – a plant from the Burseraceae family, also known as Indian frankincense. Each daily serving (2 capsules) contains 700 mg of extract, including 455 mg of boswellic acid, which is the active compound responsible for the properties of this resin. The extract is standardized to 65% boswellic acid content, which ensures a consistent and predictable amount of the active ingredient in each package.
Boswellia, or Indian frankincense
Indian frankincense (Boswellia serrata) is a tree that grows in the dry, mountainous regions of India, the Middle East, and North Africa. It has been used for centuries in traditional Ayurvedic medicine.
The health-promoting properties of the resin are attributed to terpenes, and particularly boswellic acids, which act as specific inhibitors of an enzyme involved in the biosynthesis of leukotrienes – compounds participating in inflammatory processes in the body.
Properties of boswellia
Boswellia serrata is commonly used to maintain joint flexibility and mobility. Clinical studies indicate that extract from this resin can support the preservation of proper joint cartilage condition – however, the effects of supplementation are usually observed after a longer period of use, hence a course lasting at least two months is recommended.
The extract also supports the maintenance of proper digestive and intestinal function, may have a beneficial effect on respiratory system health, and help maintain proper cholesterol levels in the blood.
The product is supplemented with inulin from chicory root – a natural prebiotic that can support proper gut flora and facilitate nutrient absorption.

How to use
